All hogs are slaughtered in on-site, state-of-the-industry slaughterhouses fitted out with German equipment (HAAS).

Each slaughterhouse matches the capacity of the finishing site it is built on. As a consequence, no hogs are transferred between Otrada’s farms and no livestock trucks come close to our farms. This considerably reduces the risk of African swine fever and other diseases in our production system.

On-site slaughtering also improves the quality of meat by reducing animal stress.

We achieve:

  • uniform quality of carcasses;
  • high dressing percentage (72%).

All carcasses from Otrada’s slaughterhouses are sold either through our Moyalino and Myaso Est retail chains or TD Otrada wholesaler.
