Crop Grain Production
The total areaa of our fields located in ecologically clean territoryareas of Dobrinsky and
Districts (the Lipetsk Region) is more than 12,000 hectares. We grow wheat, barley, sunflower, corn
soybeans using the most modern European technologies and the methods of precision land farming.

To guarantee the best quality
of feed and to mitigate the risks connected with the grain price volatility, Otrada Gen
its own crop production since 2015.
Horsch cultivating and seeding equipment allows providing perfect conditions for growing to every single
grain. The fertilizers are applied directly while seeding thus reaching the grain faster and ensuring
the productivity of fields.
To avoid the contamination of crops with mycotoxins which are extremely harmful for animals we use
fungicides observing strict limitations in order to guarantee that the final product contains no harmful
Claas tractors used at our fields have proved to be the most efficient and reliable machines which
consume little fuel while showing high performance results. All our tractors are equipped with
satellite-controlled navigation system which guarantees the precision of all processes and optimizes
Crop Grain Storage
In 2016 Otrada put into operation its own grain storage in Dobrinsky District. In 2015 Otrada Gen
started the construction of its own grain storage in Dobrinsky District. It is expected to be put into
operation in September, 2016.
The storage includes 10 silos for barley, wheat, corn, soya beans and sunflower with the total storage
capacity of 29,000 tons.
The silos provide aeration system for airing grain while storing. If the grain moisture rate is above
14%, a flexible drying system is used. The temperature is constantly monitored with the aid of special
sensors. All processes in the grain storage are controlled by dedicated software.
Flexible plastic silo bags are used for storing additional volume of grain. This method works by storing
the grain in an anaerobic environment achieved through tightly packing the grain into special polythene
bags with sealed ends.
Oxygen in the bag is respired and carbon dioxide is produced, creating an oxygen free environment
preventing the reproduction and development of fungi and insects, and allowing storage for up to twelve
months, dependent upon the moisture content of the crop. Crops stored in this manner lose their
reproductive ability but keep high nutritional value.
The grain is further taken to Otrada feed mill, where high quality feed is produced to supply the pig
farms throughout the company.
As a temporary solution we use the technology of storing the grain in plastic bags.
The essence of this technology is the storage of grain in the tight environment which is reached by
loading the grain compactly in a special polyethylene sleeve and closing its ends. Respiratory processes
of the components lead to absorption of oxygen (O2) and generation of carbon dioxide (CO2). This new
atmosphere saturated with CO2 and lacking O2 inactivates the ability of insects and fungi to
reproduction and development, and reduces own activity of grain and allows to store it, depending on
humidity, up to 12 months.
The grain stored this way loses its ability to reproduction and cannot be used for further seeding, but
it keeps all the nutritional components and the best eating qualities.
Animals have differing nutritional requirements through their lifetime and it is important that they are
provided with appropriate, carefully balanced diets at all times.
To secure quality and sufficient volume of feed, “Otrada Gen” started using its own wet feeding machine
in 2005 and opened its first feed mill in Pushkino, Dobrinsky District in 2012.
At our feed mill we use only the best quality raw materials of own production. Premixes come from
Vilomix, Denmark. Skiold equipment with the capacity of 10 tons per hour permits to produce enough feed
and prestarters to cover the farms’ total requirement.
Feed recipes are developed by our production director, Kim Christensen.
The enterprise is fully automated and easily operated by means of Flex Mix manufacturing execution
system. This system provides the full overview of the production process and reflects the statuses of
particular manufacturing stages allowing easy and precise operation.
