It is an innovative and advanced project for the semen production of elite Danish boars with the highest genetic merit. This is a significant event for the Company and an important milestone in the history of the entire Russian swine industry. The pig producers in Russia will now have access to elite genes directly from the very top of the genetic pyramid.

The Company decided to shift its focus to genetics in order to fuel its customers’ strive for constant increase of profitability in supplying them with the best swine genes, improved in Russia. The first step in this process was the gradual transformation of commercial farms into breeding farms. The decision also led to a difficult change — the elimination of the "Myaso Est" chain of retail stores and the reduction of the "Moyalino" chain to a single flagship store on Gorky Street in Lipetsk.

Otrada obtained an export permission to supply animals to Georgia. The company passed a long way from simple plans to actual deliveries: successful audit of farms by specialists from Rosselkhoznadzor and then by the Georgian veterinary.

First shops under  the brand ‘Myaso Est’  were opened in Lipetsk. The brand was created for selling high-quality chilled pork and by-products from the company’s own farms at affordable prices.

10,000 ha of land acquired in Stanovlyanskiy District
Otrada purchased land plots in Stanovlyanskiy District (Lipetsk Region) for its further expansion in pig production. This new cluster will be developed in 2018-2020 as a fully vertically integrated operation from land farming to slaughtering with a main focus on breeding animals.

Farm 2: 2,300-sow farm project launched
Otrada started the construction of a greenfield 2,300-sow multiplication farm in Dobrinka (Lipetsk Oblast). The farm is divided into two sites, Farrow to Feed (Alexandrovka) and Feed to Finish (Pushkino).
