In early March 2023, during a regular meeting with PIC, its representative, Craig Lewis, pointed out the remarkable progress made by Otrada's pig production, and not only did we significantly improve production performances over the last 6-9 months, but there are now close to the best elite and multiplication farms within the whole PIC Danish Line system.
This is the kind of evaluation that confirms that the team's efforts and contributions are paying off. Since late spring 2022, the teams of Pig Production and Breeding, with analytical input from the Planning department, have been working to improve production performance.
As a result of the analysis, many production processes were adapted, procedures were changed, feed formulas were optimized, the process control system was updated, and a semen quality control system was implemented at the laboratory of the Gene Transfer Center. In addition, cross-functional collaboration between departments involved was also improved.
